The Gas Storage committee will focus on the technical aspects of under ground storage (UGS) of natural gas and will include the evolving role of storage particularly in support of the expanded use of renewable energy.

STUDY GROUPS:

The Storage Committee will operate three study groups that will focus on the following:

  1. Maintaining an active data base on UGS in operation and UGS projects worldwide
  2. Defining best practices in UGS operations
  3. Operating UGS in today’s gas markets that includes support for renewable energy and grid balancing, the utilization of storage to reduce flaring, and supporting new LNG projects.
