SG 2.1 Underground gas storage database

Scope and purposes

Since year 2000 the database of the world gas storages has been continually developed containing today unique data sets of storages in operation with their technical parameters. Apart from the storages in operation, the database includes also new projects. Additional deliverables is geo-referenced visualization of storages with its parameters.

The goal of this triennium will be continuation of the work from the previous trienniums, updating the database and using it as a basis for definition of general and technical trends in storage industry and also storage prognosis. Interaction with other sources of flexibility will be investigated showing a unique role of storages in the gas chain.
