PRESS GUIDELINES
How to Register Press & Technical Support
Up to 2 journalists per publication are allowed to register for a press pass, plus any corresponding technical support. The documents required are the following:
- A fully completed registration form for press and technical support – download here.
- A scanned letter of request for a press pass printed on official headed paper signed by the editor of the publication, which includes full names and titles of the journalists and technical staff to register.
- A photocopy of a valid work pass or business card.
- A photocopy of a valid form of photo ID.
These documents must be sent to: press@wgc2009.com
Once all the above information has been completed & correctly submitted your request will be evaluated. The only evaluation criteria will be if the publication covers topics related to the Conference. If this cannot be verified we may ask for additional information, for example copies of the publication or examples of any published articles related to the subject matter.
All requests will be responded to. In the event where the request is successful, we will send confirmation of the press pass to the same email from which we received the initial registration form and accompanying documents.
REGISTERED JOURNALISTS and TECHNICAL STAFF should collect their badges from the appropriate counter in the Registration Area of the Conference.
There are 2 types of press pass available:
- REGISTERED JOURNALIST
- TECHNICAL STAFF
Both allow free circulation in the Exhibition (the pavilions containing the exhibition stands)
Access to the Conference for REGISTERED JOURNALISTS is allowed at any time. However TECHNICAL STAFF will only be allowed access to the Conference Halls at the start of each session and should leave as soon as the sessions start.
During the Conference sessions registered press are not allowed to ask questions. There will be time dedicated for this in the individual press conferences to be held after each session (see below). This gives paying delegates priority to ask questions during the official Conference hours as, unlike the press, they will not benefit from the exclusivity of the press conferences.
After each Keynote Speaker session a press conference will be held exclusively for press, based on the availability of the Keynote Speaker in question.
Interviews with exhibitors should be arranged via the officials in charge of the Press Room and will be subject to the availability of the individual spokesperson.
A Press Room will be available at the event for the exclusive use of registered press, and it will be equipped with PCs, relevant literature and the full programme of the event to facilitate the work of the journalists. A specialised team will be on hand in this Press Room to deal with all press requirements. |
